Audio Sessions: Quando Rondo On NBA YoungBoy, Lul Pab Killed, Quitting Gang, Taking Plea Deal

Tyquian Terrel Bowman better known by his stage name Quando Rondo, is an American rapper, and singer-songwriter. He signed with YoungBoy Never Broke Again‘s namesake record label, an imprint of Atlantic Records shortly after the release of his 2018 single, “I Remember” (featuring Lil Baby). The song received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and preceded his debut studio album, QPac (2020), which entered the Billboard 200 and contained his second platinum-certified song, “ABG”. His second album, Recovery (2023), entered the chart.

Quando Rondo returned to VladTV five years after his first sit-down with DJ Vlad. The rapper reflected on his mindset during that time, and the personal evolution he’s experienced since then. He opened up about his difficult upbringing. Growing up in Savannah, Georgia, Rondo discussed how his hometown holds similarities to New Orleans, from the culture to the local slang and cuisine.

Quando Rondo recounted being taken from his home at a young age due to his mother’s repeated incarcerations. Since then, she has been released and is striving for positive change, although Rondo emphasized that true change must come from within, rather than through financial support alone. His father also served a lengthy prison sentence, and despite their complicated past, Rondo maintains a supportive relationship with him.

The rapper also touched on his own juvenile detentions and the impact of both parents being absent during critical years. Despite these challenges, Rondo found familial bonds within his community, a common experience among his generation. Throughout the rest of the interview, Quando Rondo discussed his career progress and various controversies over the years.
