Kaskade’s Songwriting Sensibility Synthesizes With Dance Music’s New Generation

Despite its name, ORIGIN // is far from a retrospective. Kaskade’s 2026 album arrives three decades into a career filled with milestone collaborations from deadmau5 and Skrillex to Skylar Grey and Neon Trees.

Working with lesser-known artists since then has been the producer’s way of paying it forward, their unique creative processes keeping him musically open-minded. ORIGIN // condenses that curious spirit into a full-length project.

His songwriting sensibility and progressive house melodies synthesize with the sounds of dance music’s new generation to create modern festival anthems, such as the stutter-house euphoria of “Comes Back Around” with BUNT. and the acid-dipped peak-time techno of “UV” with Sarah de Warren.

Kaskade takes his biggest leaps on a pair of heavy dubstep tracks: the saccharine “A Little Bit” with Crankdat and the heart-tugging “Hear Me Now” with Wooli and MAXINE, where progressive house and headbanging bass find common ground in skyscraping builds and dopamine-flooding drops.
