Where are you from?:
Cherokee: I was born and raised on the garden Isle of Kauai I’ve been living in Texas approximately 15 years off and on living between Texas and Hawaii
How long have you been making music?:
Cherokee: I’ve been in the music industry over 15 years work with several artists from lighter shade of brown to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and other artists across the world
How many songs /albums have you released to date?:
Cherokee: I currently have six projects lingering on the shelf that have not been released but waiting for a master mixer to produce a solid album from all that samples that I’ve created
Can you tell us about your latest release and the background/inspirations behind it?:
Cherokee: Currently I’m working on a film called escape nowhere by Jay Wilson, I’m also working on American soil by bear line Productions ,Grandmaster film.com Joemer dulartle, and fearless demon Killers by Calavaza Productions
How have you ended up in the music industry?:
Cherokee: I started working on the Hip Hop Community when I was in my teenage years in Hawaii with a group called def Poet Society with members Taj Mahal son Amon Mahal Dakota wolf child Buffy sainte-marie son and we had a rap group in Hawaii
What do you think of the music industry in 2019?:
Cherokee: The music industry has changed quite a bit since the last time I’ve been working with several different artists I feel that the topics have changed and don’t tell stories like they used to
Who do you think the most influential artist?:
Cherokee: Bob Marley Tupac Shakur Eric B Rakim too short
Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?:
Cherokee: I collaborated with one of the members from lighter shade of brown DTTX mr. Majestyk in California layzie bone from Bone Thugs and Harmony and several others
How do you think you differ from other artists?:
Cherokee: My own sound and style and I’m a Storyteller rapper not a rapper based on current social media or drugs
Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?:
Cherokee: I always dreamed of collaborating with Ziggy Marley or working with dr. Dre
What was the first album you bought?:
Cherokee: Too Short in the ghetto
What’s your favorite song at the moment?:
Cherokee: I like the female hip-hop rapper snow, she has a song called Chase
If you had to sell your music collection tomorrow, what album would you leave in your draw?:
Cherokee: Tupac I come around
What is your favorite saying?:
Cherokee: For you and only you can change yourself
What other hobbies or interests do you have?:
Cherokee: Currently I’m an actor in love with the craft backing but I also am a competitive bodybuilder, martial artist and working with stunts film training I’m also a personal trainer that help people get to their abilities and their life
Do you have any tattoos or piercings?:
Cherokee: Yes both ears are pierced and I have tattoos
Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?:
Cherokee: I’m currently working on a film called laugh now cry later which was written by me and Madem-isal butterfl-i which is also written by me
What’s in the pipeline after this project?:
Cherokee: I’m working on the soundtrack for laugh now cry later for my movie I have several various artists on the soundtrack
