After releasing independent EPs and a demo CD as a duo in the late 1990s, Evanescence released their debut studio album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in 2003.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">For Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee, the origin of Sanctuary was a spontaneous manifestation. As the story goes, she first spoke the album title onstage in Australia while opening for Metallica in late 2025. \u201cThis is our sanctuary, we find comfort and connection through the power of music,\u2019\u201d she told the audience.
