But while Disturbed will be forever associated with nu-metal\u2019s millennial golden age, they\u2019ve soundly transcended it.<\/p>\n

From 2002\u2019s Believe up through to 2015\u2019s Immortalized, Disturbed clocked five consecutive No. 1 albums, never losing their aggressive edge, but gradually revealing the full emotional breadth of Draiman\u2019s growling-to-graceful vocal range and bringing their classic-rock influences to the fore.<\/p>\n

On Immortalized, the band scored the biggest international radio hit of their career with a cover of Simon and Garfunkel\u2019s \u201cThe Sound of Silence,\u201d recasting the \u201860s folk-pop ballad as a harrowing gothic hymn\u2014a perfect emblem of this band\u2019s capacity for transforming the sacred into the sacreligious.<\/p>\n
